Sable Promethion System

The Promethion Core from Sable Systems International is a high-resolution metabolic and behavioral phenotyping system designed for precise indirect calorimetry in rodents. It synchronously measures oxygen consumption (VO2), carbon dioxide production (VCO2), respiratory exchange ratio (RER), energy expenditure and behavioral parameters like activity, food/water intake and wheel running with second-by-second data acquisition. The system can hold up to 32 rodents simultaneously.
Additional features include an attachable isotope analyzer, running wheels and an environmentally controlled chamber with operating temperatures ranging from 4° to 40°C.
LF50 BCA-Analyzer Bruker

The LF50 BCA-Analyzer from Bruker is an advanced benchtop nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) analyzer designed for rapid and precise body composition analysis in small animals. Utilizing Time-Domain NMR technology, it measures fat, lean tissue and free water content non-invasively with high accuracy and reproducibility, requiring no anesthesia or sample preparation. The system features a user-friendly interface, automated measurement protocols and a compact design suitable for laboratory settings. Ideal for research in obesity, diabetes and metabolic studies, it provides results in under a minute, making it an efficient tool for longitudinal studies and high-throughput screening.
Provides non-invasive measurements of:
- Fat mass
- Lean mass
- Free fluid in live, non-anesthetized animals
BioDAQ Food Intake Monitor

The BioDAQ system from Research Diets is an advanced food and water intake monitoring system designed for precise measurement of episodic feeding and drinking behavior in singly housed rodents within their home cages. It automatically records data such as bout frequency, duration and amount consumed with second-by-second accuracy, providing detailed insights into metabolic and nutritional dynamics. The system features a manually operated gate for controlled access, an optional automated gate controller for programmed feeding schedules and extended hoppers to minimize spillage, especially with crumbly or high-fat diets. Compatible with various pelleted diets and liquids like water or sucrose solutions, BioDAQ supports up to 14 cages and is ideal for studies on feeding behavior, obesity and metabolic research.
